Fail to plan - plan to fail

An interesting phrase and seems to be the key theme around the work place at the moment. Attended a company sponsored course called 7 habits of highly effective people this morning..a self-motivating course which talks mainly on the 7 universal common traits of individuals. It was full of corny business jargons but one take away that i would probably practise and preach is on the statement above...fail to plan,,plan to fail.

Not sure why...this simple words have a strong impact on me. It is so simple and yet applicable to almost all aspects of life. Take photography for example...to get the best out of your shots you must be able to mentally picture the outcome before you even take the shots...Golf..to get a par you must plan to get one at least during each tee shot. Apparently..this can be a powerful tool if use properly both in our personal and career life. During the course, we were asked to write down our goals in life be it career or personal. I am quite amaze on the outcome as you realized that there are a lot more things you can and want to do and the best part is you yourself direct your own show...you yourself lead your own game..you yourself set your own barriers.

On a less serious note, a study in Japan reveals that the monkeys outsmart humans in some numerical memory test. Monkeys are believed to have a better photographic memory i.e. ability to remember and retain an accurate and detail picture of a complicated patterns or scenes. I guess its just a matter of time before we see a CIMA qualified monkey..damn!

Cheers
